For Spring 2013, the signature Incase Snap Case for iPhone 5 serves as a canvas for some of Fairey’s most recognizable creations. The Icon Stencil design is emblazoned with the now infamous OBEY GIANT image that changed the way people view art contextualized by their surroundings, while black and white photographs of real world OBEY GIANT sightings in San Francisco, New York and Hong Kong are the foundations for the Street Scene Snap Case.

The prolific artist behind the OBEY GIANT art campaign brings his signature

iconography to cases for iPhone 5

 

SAN FRANCISCO—March 14, 2013—Incase and Shepard Fairey are proud to release a new range of iPhone 5 cases for Spring 2013. Available today, the 10-piece series for iPhone 5 features eight different designs from one of the world’s most influential street artists, joining a complete offering of bags and products for MacBook, iPad and iPod touch in the Incase for Shepard Fairey Collection.

 

As a cultural provocateur, social critic and artist, Fairey’s striking illustrations have created some of the most enduring cultural memes in modern times. The Obedience design is a reinterpretation of classic mid-century propaganda offering social commentary on consumption and control. The Peace Goddess, subject of numerous wall mural installations by Fairey, graces the Incase Snap Case evoking feelings of strength and serenity. The Spring collection of Incase for Shepard Fairey also includes bold ornamental designs like Floral Vine and Star Gear featuring the artist’s signature emblem.

About Shepard Fairey

Shepard Fairey was born in Charleston, SC. He received his B.F.A. at the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence. While at R.I.S.D. he created the Andre the Giant has a Posse sticker that transformed into the OBEY GIANT art campaign with imagery that has changed the way people see art and the urban landscape. His work has evolved into an acclaimed body of art, which includes the 2008 “Hope” portrait of Barack Obama, which can be found in the Smithsonian’s National Portrait gallery.

 

Since the beginning of his career in 1989 he has exhibited in galleries and museums around the around the world, indoor and outdoor. His works are in the permanent collections of the MOMA, the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Boston ICA and many others.
