Library Street Collective Presents “Legacy”

A Solo Exhibition By Tristan Eaton

On View: November 7 – November 14th, 2015 at Subliminal Projects 1331 Sunset Blvd., Los Angeles, CA

Opening Reception: Saturday, November 7th, 2015 at 7 p.m.

Detroit-based contemporary and fine art gallery, Library Street Collective, is pleased to announce “Legacy,” a solo exhibition of new work by Tristan Eaton. In this exhibition, Hollywood-born Eaton explores the topic of “legacy,” in his most personal and introspective exhibition yet. Eaton looks for ways to pay respect to those who came before him and honor their legacy for infinite generations to-come, with a captivating array of paintings and fabricated metal print works. The canvas works include mixed-media portraits of spray paint, acrylic and silkscreen, involving patterned, symbolic and metaphoric layers inspired by audio interviews the artist conducted with nearly a dozen people who have played an important role in his life.

Pace Prints Extend Exhibition to Nov. 7

Pace Prints have extended their current exhibition of new editions by Shepard to November 7th. The new series of prints are featured on handmade paper, including the large scale 3-color relief prints.

Paradise Turns – “what at first appears to be an advertisement for a relaxing beach getaway quickly reveals itself to be a bleak landscape where the water flows like an oil slick, and towers loom forebodingly in the background.”

Paint It Black, which “pays homage to the history of rock and roll, using Russian constructivist-inspired graphics to depict a hazardous paint can of ‘Oil Based Policy,’ jutting out into the viewer’s space.”
