My friend Sam Spiegel, 1/2 of N.A.S.A. worked on the music for a Basquiat inspired video. LA MOCA initiated the collaboration which turned out really well. Check it out.

Vote today!

I could go on and on about the flaws of the system itself, but short of a violent revolution (which I don’t advocate), the only way to improve the governance of the country, and the system itself, is to VOTE. Vote people in who will make positive changes for government and for the people. I’ve talked to many people who say “f*ck the system—I’m not voting,” but when you remove yourself from the democratic process by saying “f*ck the system,” you’re only ensuring that the system will be more f*cked.

This is no time for idealistic posturing on the sidelines. When you don’t vote, the people who benefit most from your apathy certainly didn’t want you to vote. If you’re as frustrated as I am, and you want to give a big F*CK YOU to someone who’d love to oppress you, VOTE—and give the middle finger to the Koch brothers, Karl Rove, Wall Street, and all the other powerful interests who want us to live in their world without any say for ourselves or any humanitarian regard for society’s least fortunate. Your vote matters.

California Voters: No on 32

California Voters: Yes on Prop 37

Prop 37 will be voted on in just 6 days. Yes on Prop 37 will mandate simple labeling on foods made with GMO’s in California. 90% of all Americans agree that our foods should have these labels, however Monsanto, DuPont and other chemical companies have spent over $40 million working to confuse consumers, and it is now behind in the California polls.

GQ UK X Sound + Vision

While I was in London for my SOUND & VISION show I was interviewed by GQ UK and there wasn’t one question about ascots, scarves, or whether I prefer Prada or…? Trick question… I only wear Prada! Despite my disappointment  about not being taken seriously as a fashion icon, the interview turned out pretty well. Check it out.

Farmhouse Conf 3 x Shepard Fairey – November 3rd

Farmhouse Conf 3 is the third installment of Hollywood’s best backyard storytelling conference. 1 day / 1 track, 10 speakers (5 men / 5 women), no slides, no projectors. Amazing people telling incredible stories of Disruption.
The event brings together people from a variety of backgrounds and influences. The big vision is to get amazing people together, inspire them, give them time and space to cross pollinate… then watch what great things come from it. Attendees are welcome to camp in the backyard if you bring your own gear (tent, sleeping bag, etc).
All the food and drinks are provided during the day and night. After the day of talks, we party into the night with live music, free booze and tasty treats.

Why Shepard endorses Obama

I have finally articulated why I will vote for Barack Obama and why I’d urge others to do the same. I procrastinated because my feelings about Obama and the state of politics right now are complex. My writing for 90days90 reasons reflects my most constructive take on Obama and how we can move forward. Please take a look and share. ALSO use your voice and vote on
Nov. 6!
